-The “Old World”-

I thought that I would say this out loud but it is a thing I’ve thought about since the 1950s. There was a time when Europe was the world’s power. Unfortunately, that time was hundreds of years ago. Were Europe an actual nation, it might have continued to be a world power. It is, unfortunately, a group of small independent nations that all together amount to a rather weak conglomeration of competing children. Except for the few that possess nuclear capability. Even for that, it depends on who fires nukes first. I think we know the answer to that question.

When Europe sprouts a consortium of leaders in one thing or another there is a lot of bluster against America. America who saved their countries during two world wars that, had Europe been wiser, may not have taken place. Then it would have been one war and that against Japan.

When I think of all the good American men who died saving Europe and then watch Europe put their noses up towards America I shake my head. Some things never change and being ungrateful for your freedom, purchased by so much American blood, steams me.

I came along through birth shortly after WW 2 and it was still fresh on my mind as I saw young men selling pencils in San Francisco with missing arms and legs. That was in the 1950s: early. I grew up with WW 2 fresh on my mind then Korea came along bringing war once again to the veterans of WW 2. Then came Vietnam and I went there twice so I have a fairly decent idea of what war is and what it entails. I’ve seen it, different place, same gore. I lost a lot of high school friends there but America was not into that war so we lost. Call our exit there anything you want but we could have won that war but for the Democrats running our government. Democrats that were acting a lot like European leaders back then.
