Hey, how about those days when everything is already done, you decide to stay at home, and you can watch TV all day. A zero sum day. Nothing to take you away from drooling on the couch. No one to do anything for. No responsibilities to sign off on. Just you and the Zombie Box. Call it ZB instead of TV. I consider these days to be horrible and I know what I am talking about. Tired days when the “please, shut the hell up and don’t bother me” sign goes up on the door. Then the damned doorbell rings and someone is out on your porch trying to sell you something. I actually shut the door on some young guy yesterday who came to sell some type of solar panels installation yet again. I told him to go away and shut the door on him in mid-sentence. He went away, I guess.

It isn’t that I am not polite, it is that these people are not polite. They come onto private property and try to cajole you into buying a rip off. Solar panels? How many times have you been interested in solar panels. Deeply and painfully interested in solar panels? Never? When I was a kid they came to our door selling encyclopedias. I recall how polite my Mom was and how patient she was before telling this person to go to hell. My Father was not so patient and told them to go to hell immediately, before they could get a sentence out. Door to door salesfudds. Talk about failing to get a life!

Zero is an empty number, a place holder for nothingness yet important in being a placeholder. You couldn’t have 100 of anything without zeros. How about that number after 9? Skip to 11? Or, go back to one. Zero also looks pretty much like “O” but “O” holds no place. Odd that. Or, should it be 0dd that? You see how my mind works? I wouldn’t wish my mind on anyone or any zero or any placeholder. I just am and that is my excuse for being old. It’s a pretty good excuse when you think about it.
