Language is, in a word, odd. Would you agree? If you do not then please explain to me how one person, somewhere, calls a pancake a flapjack or the other way around. I’m not sure if they have pancakes in England but it would seem they would by now. No doubt, a pancake in China would bear some resemblance to a pancake or flapjack. Russia just has borscht for breakfast so let’s not include the Russians for now. I probably should do the same for China because I don’t want to get nuked over a flapjack. There are better ways to die, like, not at all.

I’ve long held only a few beliefs and that little golden brown disk in the frying pan that you butter and drench in maple syrup is called a pancake. Of course, if your little golden disk is high brown to black you probably need to turn the flame down. It’s always the little things that get us, right?

We didn’t get pancakes or flapjacks in Vietnam. We got odd little foil wrapped “wondermeats” and were glad to have those. A cookie is nice in combat also. But, I digress.

English- It is a wonder that even the English can understand American. I would be nonplussed to have to dredge up all the nice little dainty adjectives and articles the English use. This is why they are so far above us in life. It might also be why they chickened out when asked to help us in Iran or the Straits of Hormuz. If I recall, we helped them out against the Nazis, and that was a little more like a real war. Iran is just a pain in the international ass. I once thought that if they wanted nukes we could send them a couple via B2 Bombers. Then again, what fun would that be when we tried to fill our cars with gas.

The world is a wonder, isn’t it? A wonder humanity ever got this far when you look back at history which leads me to this question: Who else has nukes that we don’t know about? I would think this to be a GREAT piece of information to have. Probably sooner than later also. Oh well, it’s probably just me worrying about stuff I can do nothing about. If you’re a country with nukes that we don’t know about send me a letter and I will publish it here. Until then, I’ll hold my breath.
