Trump

The more I hear about Trump the more confused I get. You see, there is only one objective news source left in America and that is, unapologetically, FOX. Before you groan and call me dirty names let me explain how I got to this statement. Notice I didn’t say, “idea” but said instead, “statement”. It is not an idea that I came to casually, it is my experience with the other cable news channels.

Before FOX became available on our cable network there was only CNN. I watched only CNN during Desert Storm and afterward. Then, lo and behold, FOX came onto the network so I watched it and thought they must be lying because CNN told me, us, that Bush was dumb and Republicans weren’t worth the life they were given. That got me to considering what in hell FOX was doing so I watched both for a couple of years. I compared notes and finally realized that I wasn’t getting the straight skinny from CNN. Forget MSNOW, those people are daft and it shows.

The more I watched FOX the more I understood that only one had a cause and that cause was to thwart, using their audience of stalwart viewers, any decent, honest coverage of Republicans. I am not a Republican but I do want honest news coverage without obfuscation or the twisting of words to indicate the opposite of what is taking place in our government. A society has to be able to trust the news they’re getting to make personal decisions about both members of our government and those they will vote for in the future.

Trump was harried from the minute he walked down the escalator until today. He was screwed over by both politicians and the news for things he did not do. The two aforementioned news channels lied continuously about his unproven guilt and the courts eventually had to back off as he was innocent of all he was accused of.

Yet, the two news channels continued to shade him guilty when he wasn’t. I asked myself, what if this happened to me and I had not money to mount a defense in all the shrapnel sent my way? What if this happened to you? Or any of us for that matter. How crooked is one side of the aisle to go full tilt into this propaganda? These are questions we should ask ourselves if ever this happens again. How would we fare if this was aimed at us?

I got a small taste of this when I came home from Vietnam. That is what alerted me in the first place as we were lied about by this same press and Hollywood. Most of us were innocent of what was their blatantly false accusations. It is time and past time to set things right so I will do my best no matter the flak I get.

Remember also, Vietnam was started by Democrats. It was Democrats that managed to lose that war through malfeasance in government. It was a much maligned Republican president that ended that war but only after hundreds of thousands of my generation were killed, maimed or left mentally and emotionally useless by that war. There were no parades and most of us never brought it up that we were soldiers or sailors in that war. If we did the other side would curse us for what we were sent to do. The other side being the Democrat left. You know, the one’s who took over the news channels and most of cable TV. And you wonder what it would be like to have propaganda served warm and steaming to you? Wonder no more.
