I am going to take this on a different tangent with this article. I mean, if I wanted to complain about government, protestors, and reprobates of a political nature I could write until the sun burnt out. Instead, I would like to elevate the discourse, written and one way though it is, to a spiritual level. Not Eastern philosophy or even Greek archaic philosophy but to an even older one. Instead, let’s, for just a moment, bring God into the equation, quadratic or a choice you want to make as to algebra.
If you have never read the bible then you do not understand our times. We’ve been on this planet, rotating around for thousands of years, depending on what you believe. My belief is in Scripture, not us, not politics. True, I started this with political distaste but my nature has always been that of a believer in God and, in turn, His Son, Jesus. If this puts you off stay with me through this article and then you can go someplace else.
The bible does not equate with science as to most things the bible tells us. After years of study I realized that the reason for this is that the timeline of the bible is based on Adam and Eve and the founding of Israel but the bible does not say when Adam and Eve were here on Earth. Even that beginning is lost to us through poor writing or dodgy history. Mankind is not known for getting history correct despite those who have staked their reputation on being correct with, well, how many timelines? More than ten for certain and probably closer to thousands given the span of millennia since the first bit of history was written in, say, Babylon. Some say history began in Bakersfield, California but I doubt that. Your guess is as good as mine. All of sciences timing of Earth is based pretty much on Carbon 14 and radioactive decay. Fine. Good for them. They nailed the timeline of mankind down and they’re going to stick with it.
Unless, of course, Carbon 14 is not correct and so many have staked their reputation on Carbon 14. For crying out loud they’ve been teaching this since the 1970s! Or so. It is nice to have unbridled confidence in the scientific method unless, as they have many times in the past, find out they were wrong.
No, I don’t know when Adam and Eve were created. I know that they were created though because God said so. Notice, no one wants to guess how long God has been here? That is because He always was and always will be. Not like that aging chef at your local restaurant though. No, God is just what the universe means. Poor science, they bristle at being called out don’t they. God will settle the discussion sooner than later though, if you read the bible. In fact, things are turning quickly in the direction of Scripture starting at World War One or 1914. Then we invented Nukes. That was a nice touch, huh?
