Have you ever opened a barn door? It is no surprise if you say you haven’t. Neither have I so it got me thinking how far we have come from the source of our breakfast and dinner. In my estimation, breakfast and dinner are rather necessary. Especially if you work with your hands and not your finger tips as I do and probably a lot of you do. Typing is a long way from feeding chickens isn’t it? Feeding cattle moves us further away but not from the dinner table. Then again, we can’t all be farmers can we?

As I type this article I am thinking about farmers who got up long before me and have been working since before the sun and in weather that is not conducive to typing. Let’s face it, we’re not all cut out to actually work as farmers do or we would all be farmers. Then again, I used to make my living with my hands but that was cutting glass and you have to have light to cut glass and then take it a long way away and install it. It has to be placed on a truck and tied down against the wind and traffic or it falls off the truck and screws up a lot of people’s day. This from one who took anthropology in college. Life is strange isn’t it and how the two came to be is for another day; anthropology and glass.

It does tell you that I am thoroughly vetted though. Adept at more than one way to make a living and this writing thing happened only because I have the time to do it now. I also love to write even if I am slightly south of the wall. The proverbial wall we are all off of to someone. But, be of good cheer because if you’re also off the wall you’ve found a pretty good place to go on the internet. Beats the hell out of Facebook doesn’t it?
