When we come right down to it, the only thing history is good for is to tell us what we’re going to do next. The context history presents is basically mankind’s imperfections. Sure, there were great things done but none compare to forming a planet such as Earth. You talk about great! Mankind has, historically, done all he can to screw up our planet but, as yet, has not succeeded. Why do you think we invented nuclear and bio and chemical weapons? To help the Earth? And, no, there is NOT a damn thing we can do about our stupidity!!!

Stupidity does not belong to any one individual. Many are the individuals who were stupid. I like to think that I am not one of them and then I recall something I did a while ago. Driving a sports car around a turn on a mountain at 70 mph and sliding off the road and damn near over a 500 foot drop. I stopped about three feet from going over.

There is a litany of things I have done which were as dumb or even dumber than the aforementioned. Yet, what I did would affect only me and about five other people who are family. I would not be able to screw up the planet single handed. Nor can you. Nah, it takes a village to screw up the planet and socialism is merely one of them. How would socialists handle nukes? They aren’t easy to handle, he said, knowingly, recalling a military stint decades ago.

Now we have a nice mix of history telling us what we will do but not telling us which new toys we will have to do it with. Say, just for a moment, that Genghis Khan had nukes. Or, maybe, Hitler. How about the Hittite’s or Persians, speaking of Iran. You see? History is our Crystal Ball, not old stale stuff that happened over a week ago.
