Shall we take a brief look at exactly what the “truth” is, I mean, outside what the bible says, which really is the truth. Roundabout is what a lot of us go to when asked the truth in way of explaining what it is we did or didn’t actually do. Simple stuff like: “Why didn’t you take the trash out?” Or: “Did you or did you not murder that person?” Talk about going on and on, right?
The rub is that truth is the reason for yes or no. Yes. (I did it.) No. (No, I did not do it.) How simple and cost effective is honesty? No more courts or judges or that which sucks blood from defending an idiot who did something or even neglected to do something that cost a person(s) life or economic harm.
The bible tells us how not to put ourselves in these types of situations. Following the bible with grit and sincerity will keep a lot of us from ever having to be in the situation of having to say: yes or no to another. Guilt kind of goes away also. People who carry guilt are difficult people to trust aren’t they? Weasels, is what some call this type of person. “Weaseling out of responsibility,” is a term we have heard since childhood isn’t it? God doesn’t care for weasels. Then again, weasels don’t really think of God when they hurt others as they have no foundation.
Foundation is what the bible will build for us. It starts slowly but proceeds inexorably to break our ground and to slowly build honesty of character. Unfortunately, weasels denigrate the bible causing others not to believe or even try to read and understand the bible.The devil is a “Grand Weasel,” isn’t he? The devil is the father of the lie and always has the weasels ear. It seems an archaic joke when written like that last sentence doesn’t it? This is how the devil works by making himself a humorous cartoon character instead of a deadly messenger to those who believe in nothing but this world and its money, fame, and status. God doesn’t believe in human status or wealth. He believes, rather, in the humble who are usually the victims of those who side with the devil.
