It must have been about twenty or so years ago that I grew sick of hearing about race. Talk about a cudgel! The same for politics but in a different manner of sick. Say, something like a bad cold is the way I look at politics. A necessary evil or one might go so far as to say a malign influence on one’s health.
Still, I love to hate politicians but only for the most part. I like Trump which, when I mention this, gets me more than a sideways look from a lot of people. I figure, it could be worse and this comes from a guy who enlisted and got sent to war. There’s worse than Trump so it really comes down to perspective. If you’ve been to hell and back Trump looks pretty good, comb over or not.
Then again, I guess you can waste a lot of your valuable time complaining about politicians of either party but don’t you have something better to do? Like the dishes you left in the sink last night? Or the puppy that just crapped on your bedroom carpet? You know, reality. I guess if you’re in an apartment you may have time to consider a lot of dire thoughts? Don’t worry, the housing market just might get better.Well, just listen to me go on and on.
Back to race, I started calling people humans instead of white or black or yellow or, or what? This is because we are here for so short a time that you have to get old to realize that you don’t have time to waste. I can drop dead any second now. That’s fine, I lived through what should have killed me several times. I don’t consider my time borrowed either. I earned every second of the time I have left, twice over.
Smile, instead of ruminate about your position in life. What the hell! We can’t all be rich or there would be no money left! No loans for that fancy new car. No home loans either. The rich have their own problems and that problem is being rich. As Jesus stated it:
“For a rich man to get to Heaven is like trying to pass a Camel through the eye of a needle.” Make a note of that lest you forget.
