After some careful reflection for a few weeks I decided to go ahead and write of an experience I had coming home, going back to college, and winding down from Vietnam. Vietnam was a hard fought war both at home in America and overseas. It ended up giving the radical left a foothold in government which we see the effects of in the Democrat party today. The progressive left had been looking for an opportunity to force their idea of “democracy” on America and Vietnam was the open door that allowed them in.
They are the ones who also decided it was a great idea to legalize pot, then all drugs, and pot is what I wanted to write about here. Its affects on me and, therefore, on people since then. Relaxation of mind is what pot allows and that is what I needed back then as I dared not tell anyone that I was a veteran of Vietnam. I grew my hair down to my shoulder blades, smoked a lot of dope, but stopped short of LSD. Alcohol was also a drug of choice for me and it was the “getting high” that I sought after even after quitting pot.
When I finished college I found I still had the residue of pot affecting my thought process. I didn’t understand that pot was the cause back then but later I understood completely that it was. Alcohol had taken the place of pot but the high was what I kept seeking. A gateway drug is pot and I know this for myself and for others back then. I see it in the laziness of thinking nowadays as pot is far stronger now than it was then. Alcohol will follow, as the high is all one ends up seeking. The high “pads” the brain from proper function and then encourages reaction rather than critical thought. The emotional and irrational actions such as we see in the public square in these times on TV. Ludicrous behavior seems rational when one’s brain becomes syrup from drugs and allows thoughts of lunacy to be normalized. All the while encouraging acts of mental illness to be normal behavior otherwise relegated to crazy or insane people.
It is the reaction of so many being crazed that can eventually tear down the boundaries of civil society. Creating a malleable and easily persuaded society to fall under the control of a dictatorship. Why do you think China has sold so much mental garbage on America be it Fentanyl or Tik-Tok? Ludicrous behavior that would be seriously challenged in my youthful days is normal now?
Normal is knowing limits of behavior. Without normalcy civilization dies. Without knowing the strength of a moral society, society devolves into chaos. Look around you and consider my words. Then decide for yourselves.
