Is it just me or do you also get the feeling that being irrational is the “in” thing to do these sullen days? Sullen days versus sunny days as they were before Vietnam. Of course, I was a kid in adult skin in those days that I went into combat. It took me years to figure out the who and the what of my presence on Earth after that. War is not a fun thing no matter how deeply involved you are. War is the reason that we get along because one side always has to be superior in arms and conscience to beat the other side.

Conscience. That is quite a nebulous term isn’t it? In which part of our body or mind does our conscience reside? If it is in our heart then why do we say of a person, that person has a great heart when they die of a heart attack. Questions are things that need to be asked aren’t they?

If a civilization goes along too far without asking questions that civilization is likely to be Rome or Ancient Greece. They just ain’t around no more! Vestiges and ruins is all we have of those once great empires. But, that’s just the way it goes, so humans should never get to comfortable with what they think they have because all they really have is their belief system and family. Without a belief system you kind of forfeit your family structure also so then what do you have? Just you and your lonesome and a few perverted friends leaching off you.

I prefer to follow the bible as that seems to be a book whose text has made it through since before ancient Rome or Greece and Rome and Greece weren’t exactly bible loving nations now were they? That was Israel back then and look where they are now. Not exactly staying with the context of the New Testament. Just the Old Testament and that is an accurate text but its purpose ended when Christ came to be. Hey, that is the way it goes isn’t it? Think on this for a minute or two.
