So, you’re alive once again today. Stop for a few seconds and think about the alternative. Either way, alive or dead, eternity awaits you, me, and those that you don’t much care for over there. The possible difference between those, you , and me is that at least one of us looks toward eternity. I know, that is an opaque and indiscernible thing to see, eternity. However, we have a word for eternity, eternity. Is that word an accident from a long dead but confused individual or is that word an concept that needs to be proven to be true? Proof. How often do we seek proof and not find it yet go about our days piling detritus on such things. Time to clear the clutter? A good house cleaning is in order on a regular basis or our brains sour from the spoilage of things best forgotten.
Infinity is yet another concept for “endless.” The difference between infinity and eternity seems to be distance versus place in some odd manner. Eternal life needs to be lived in a place whereas, the road to get there leads through infinity. Or, it could be that your road leads only to 7-11. This is a choice we all make and that choice includes how to think about our lives. Is ours a life that is full of strife, regrets, depression, or, is our life one of looking toward infinity and eternity? The latter leads to purpose, comportment, and good. Don’t ask me to define good as that would take all day and I find one or two paragraphs is about right for most of my readers.
I write this today as Iran is on fire and there is not a lot of positive news. Was the news ever positive? No. Why is that? Because we are human beings and our long ago parents gave up perfection for a piece of fruit. That circumstance alone should tell you how we all operate and why the only good news available is in the bible. This is why I tend to harp on that book. It is complex, what isn’t, and it is proof of concept only written in a way that takes study and not a worldly once over. Do you know how old the bible is? Nobody is certain despite scholarly minds. Scholarly minds that say the bible is trash yet, have they spent enough time reading it? Probably not as this tends to be toward a political muse. It is the only truth we have so scholars need to reconsider their stance if eternity or infinity is in their lexicon.
