For the life of me I cannot recall when it was I first got interested in things like Terminal, code, servers, etc. Now, it could be that most of you are not at all interested in this stuff but I am of technical mind. I arrived at this juncture from birth and four years in the Navy maintaining electronic warfare equipment. I got pretty good at keeping the equipment running and “ship shape.”
When I got out of the Navy the internet did not exist except a kind of model that we used for radar in the Navy. Yeah, it was classified . . .damn it! I’d love to tell you about it but even though what I worked with then is in the scrap yards by now. You see, I signed some papers that told me to keep my mouth shut. I honor my promises.
Anyhow, I got interested in coding, knew not one wit about it so I learned. This was before AI by many years so I had no help just grit and interest. A for instance is that this website rests on a VPS server that I maintain but there is ever so much more! I began a new website to test out how will a certain software, Discourse, would render code. Code is quite particular in how it is rendered, unlike pork fat. I think it was a little more than twelve years ago I started this silliness but I wasn’t taking notes so you just have to take my word for it.
I am in the middle of putting up a website that I call SOTP/AI. Seat of the Pants plus AI. If I knew I could have had this much fun when I was three (1951) I would have learned IT skills. I guess this will have to be good enough for now but, next life!
